Fables and Reflections (Sandman Book VI) - Neil Gaiman

Gaiman has the wonderful ability to tell you stories that you've never heard before and make them sound vaguely familar; and then he tells you another story that you've known for all your life and makes it seem new again. This collection is made up of stories collected from history and myth (Orpheus and Eurydice, Augustus Caesar, and others), but told this time showing how Morpheus was involved in each. I liked the different styles of artwork in this one—several of the stories departed from the more typical comic-book style, and I enjoyed the variety.
