Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus - Mo Willems
Robyn and I came across this one at Borders. It's a wonderful silly book which starts with the bus driver leaving and asking you, whatever you do, not to let the pigeon drive the bus. The rest of the book (with the child-like drawings and hand-written Courier text) consists of the pigeon begging, pleading, blustering and wheedling in order to convince you to let it drive the bus. Of course, the downside is that the author assumes that you don't, whereas I'm sure many kids (and myself, I admit) would want to see what would happen if we let the pigeon drive the bus. Alas, it's not to be.
