Inkheart - Cornelia Funke

This is a fantastic fantasy story about the magic of books and of reading aloud. Characters from a book (also titled Inkheart) have come to life and entered the world of Meggie and her father Mo, a bookbinder. There are kidnappers, fire-raisers, thieves, and books, books, books. I love to read stories in which books play a big part, and Funke throws out references right and left: Lord of the Rings, Peter Pan, Arabian Nights... It's a wonderful fairy tale of a story and fun to read out loud, except for the frequent use of the world "inquiringly," which is difficult to say quickly.
