Murder Mysteries - Neil Gaiman & P. Craig Russell

Another library find ... This graphic novel is adapted from a short story by Gaiman, so he didn't do the actual scripting of the comic. I'm not sure how much of the dialogue is lifted verbatim from Gaiman's piece, but it wasn't one of my favorites. The story is about the angels in heaven, pre-Creation, working on the design of the universe (like what does "green" look like?"). In the midst of this, an angel is found dead, and Lucifer sends for the angel of vengeance to determine who did it.

This story is framed by another, about a nameless man in LA, listening to an old man on a bench tell his story.

It's got a little of the Gaiman signature creepiness, and weaving a murder mystery into Lucifer's backstory, but overall I just didn't enjoy it as much.
