Marked - Steve Ross

Marked is a graphic-novel version of the Gospel of Mark, set in a weird sort of present-day city. John the Baptist is a homeless guy eating out of trash cans, and Jesus is a carpenter, natch, who hears John on the radio and is strangely drawn to his message. It's an interesting way to look at it but despite the modernized setting I think Ross still has some difficulty translating everything into a convincing present-day tale.

It is a fresh look at an old story, but I felt it didn't really capture the essence of the gospel.
