Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules - Jeff Kinney

I was at the library with my kids and decided to pick up a book and browse a little while I was sitting there. I'd heard of this "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series but hadn't ever read any. It's fairly amusing, printed in a sort of handwriting-type font and featuring little doodly cartoons (intended to look like a kid did them but a little too fine for that).

Greg is a middle-schooler with a tattletale three-year-old brother, a pain-in-the-rear older brother (Rodrick), and a none-so-bright best friend. Rodrick knows about an embarrassing episode from the summer, and threatens to tell the whole school if Greg does anything to bother him. So Greg ends up covering for his brother's wild party, helping with homework, etc.

The humor is, of course, middle-school humor, but I got a few chuckles out of it in the hour or so it took me to finish off the book. I probably could recommend this to middle-schoolers looking for something funny to read.
