You know what would be nice? If novels all came with an index at the end, or maybe a timeline of some sort, so that in the middle of a story if you suddenly thought, hmmm, what did this character say about that? you could go and look it up. It would be particularly useful in books that have some sort of mystery; being able to go back and find a particular scene to review clues would be quite helpful.
