Ghost World - Daniel Clowes

(Saw the movie, then read the book)
The book, centered around two recent high school graduates, depicts teenage girls the way they actually talk, while still leaving room for some zany characters (one of whom is played by Steve Buscemi in the movie—yay, Steve!). While there are funny parts, it is also a poignant story about a long friendship that drifts apart, as the two girls discover they aren't headed in the same direction in life. It's not a book a lot of people would enjoy, but I thought it was worth the read.
