No Need for Speed: A Beginner's Guide to the Joy of Running - Jim "The Penguin" Bingham

(happened upon while browsing at Borders one day)
Read in complement to Deborah Reber's book, this offers many of the same sorts of tips (wear good shoes, don't injure yourself, etc.). Importantly, though, it recognizes that most people who run are not going to be featured on television winning the Boston Marathon. Emphasis is placed on the fact that a runner is not a Superwoman, a runner is simply one who runs. Bingham prods all of us "adult-onset athletes" to keep the faith and keep running, not because we want to be wafer-thin or strong as steel, but simply because running is a joyful experience. And I guess he's called "The Penguin" because he waddles?!
