Anywhere But Here - Tori Miki

I got this at the library with a pile of other comics. It's a wordless comic strip from Japan with an introduction by Nozomi Ohmori. Ohmori compares Miki's cartoons to haiku, with its minimalist style and "thinker's punch-line." Many of the comics are the sort that you don't get right away, and it makes you take a second glance. There's no good way to give a summary of the sort of cartoons contained here, but it's a funny bit of work. What makes it especially funny is the lead character's unchanging bored expression throughout, as if he's so jaded that none of the bizarre stuff going around surprises him.
