The Monsterologist: A Memoir in Rhyme - Bobbi Katz, illustrated by Adam McCauley
If monsters are what interest you,
the how and why of what they do,
I know the facts: What's false, what's true,
since I'm a monsterologist.
The library got this book just in time for Halloween: it's a memoir by a "monsterologist," who has written poems about vampires and zombies, the Yeti and the ghost of Elvis, Godzilla and Grendel. The poems are funny, more silly than scary, and the illustrations are fantastic. It's a mish-mash of drawings, collages, stamps, and any number of other things, and they do end up looking like a scrapbook made by a slightly crazy monster-hunter.
Here's my review on GeekDad, too.
