The Order of the Stick: On the Origin of PCs - Rich Burlew
The Order of the Stick is apparently an online comic set in the world of role-playing games. The drawings are dressed-up stick figures, and it's incredibly geeky. This particular volume is actually not just a collection of the online comics, but a sort of pre-quel showing the backstories of some of the characters. Not being familiar with the characters, however, it's not as entertaining (but I have to admit I was warned in the introduction).
The closest thing I've read to this is Dork Tower, which is also largely about role-playing but seems to be a little more accessible. Order of the Stick tends to have a lot more RPG terminology that just lost me. Probably hilarious for RPG players, but a little esoteric for the rest of us.
